What goes IN this container?
If it is food, packaged or unpackaged, it goes in here. You can toss in:
- All food and packaging (no glass or styrofoam)
- Fresh produce and dairy products
- Canned goods and pet food
- Prepared food (including pizza, cookies, and tacos)
- Loose liquids (milk juice etc)
- No more than 25 gallons per bin 3 yard bin
- No more than 5 gallons for the tote
- Meat, fish, and deli items
What stays OUT of this container?
Please help us keep our compost clean and safe for local farms. Absolutely NO:
- Glass of any kind
- Styrofoam egg cartons
- General landfill trash (no shipping boxes, plants, mulch, dirt, chemicals, wood/wood pallets, metal fixtures or lugs/totes)
- Hazardous chemicals

Excluding styrofoam eggs cartons and glass, you can leave the food in its original packaging.
Please make sure the lid is completely closed after every single use to minimize odors and keep pests out. Your pest- and tamper-resistant container will be regularly emptied and rinsed to keep your site clean and fresh.
Do not leave surplus food or organic materials on the ground. Our service schedule is tailored to your output to ensure your container never over-fills, but we understand that that unexpected things happen. Yes, you can pour liquid food items like dairy, juices, and soups into the container. However, do not dispose of any non-food or hazardous cleaning chemicals in this specific bin.
