New Earth’s kiddie cushion is a specially manufactured Engineered Wood Fiber (EWF) to be used in playgrounds and play-scape areas. We use wood sourced from San Antonio and surrounding areas to make this product.

The wood is derived from native species indigenous to San Antonio and surrounding areas including but not limited to oak varieties, hackberry, pecan, pine, elm, ash, and cedar. While all of these wood species are approved sources for engineered wood fiber, New Earth segregates the cedar for our cedar mulch product. Therefore there is a minimal amount of cedar present in the finished product.

New Earth EWF does not contain recycled, painted, or chemically treated wood, including pallets. The majority of the wood fibers do not exceed 1 ½ inch in length and contain 10-20% wood fines to aid with compaction. This product is certified through the International Playground Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA). Our Kiddie Cushion is certified to ASTM- F2075-15 & ASTM- F1292-18, F3351-19e1 standards and tested by TÜV SÜD America.

Kiddie Cushion is an Engineered Wood Fiber (EWF) specifically designed for use on playgrounds and play-scape areas. Kiddie Cushion is made from virgin wood sourced from local, lumber mills.
